We are very sad to report that Hudson Valley Duck Farm will have their last Market visit tomorrow. They have been an anchor at our Market and we are deeply saddened by their departure. A key staff member has decided to move one, prompting a cascade of changes to how they structure their operations. They are pulling out of most of their Markets, including all Westchester ones. Tomorrow will be their last day, so please stock up on duck breast, duck fat, and their famous duck prosciutto. While you’re there bid adieu to Lou, their long-time Market representative. We’ll miss him.

It’s not all bad news...We have several guest vendors tomorrow that we are excited to share with you, especially if you have a sweet tooth. First up is Bohemian Baked, who specializes in gluten-free and vegan baked goods. Nancy Haggerty, the bohemian baker, started exploring allergen-free baking when she was diagnosed with digestive issues related to a thyroid condition. She experimented making her favorite pastries like cinnamon buns and doughnuts, and then expanded her line to include garlic knots, breads, bagels, and more. Silvia’s Desserts also visits with decidedly gluten and dairy-heavy Latin American treats. Her flan, tres leche, and alfajores are decadent and delicious! Pick up some of her “dessert shots” — everyone at the Labor Day BBQ will thank you!

We’re delighted to welcome Kimchi Cooks for a guest apperance this Saturday! They’ll be cooking up classic Korean pancakes that serve as the perfect canvas for their different kimchis. Kate Kook and WooJae Chung, the mother-and-son duo behind the company, are on a mission to supply NYC with the seasoned and flavorful kimchi of their native Korea. When they immigrated to New York in the early nineties and couldn’t find the quality kimchi Kate had grown up on, she started making her own, using her family’s recipe. Today, Kate and her now-grown son work through the night in their Brooklyn-based kitchen to produce over 1000 jars of kimchi a month — fermenting, batching, packing, and labeling everything by hand. Alongside the classic kimchi she’s known for, Kate specializes in blending together flavor palettes from both her native and adopted homelands, like she does in her Kimchi’d Kale and Kimchi’d Cabbage and Beets- offering an American twist on a Korean classic. Make sure to grab some for lunch!
