Ho, Ho, Holidays!

Saturday’s market is our last in 2024 and also the last before the holidays. If you're like most people and still have a few missing items on your shopping list, fear not! We've got you covered, from organic carrots and free-range eggs to found-wood cutting boards and chunky knit hats.

Plunging temperatures and fleeting daylight makes us long for cozy, belly-filling, comfort food. This brisket bourgiugnon ticks all the boxes; perfect for holiday hosting, it pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes (find your spuds at Halal Pastures Farm). Even better, it heats up beautifully for left-overs (if there are any!). Newlight Breadworks’ milk bread is perfect for sopping up the savory jus. Visit our friends at R & M Farm for your brisket. Add a bag of deliciously spicy Hot Shot greens from Obercreek Farm to drizzle with balsamic vinegar and olive oil from Agape Premium EVOO. Dinner is served!

Wil-Hi Farm is paying us a visit and you'll want to stop by their tent for a number of reasons. Firstly, you can pick up some tender lamb shoulder for this luscious pulled lamb. Secondly, their Rambouillet sheep provide wool for skeins of colorful, quality yarn in gorgeous colors for the knitter in your life. They’ve also got eco-friendly wool dryer balls and warm and woolly shoe insoles, which make perfect stocking stuffers! Finally, they’ve got hand-crafted goats milk soap in festive scents like Warm Flannel and Cranberry Citrus.

PSA: Ready, Set, Sharp! will be set up in his usual spot at the entrance to the market. Here's your reminder to bring your knives, kitchen shears, and anything else you need sharpened on Saturday morning. As ever, Matt will sharpen while you shop! Also remember that sharp scissors facilitate gift wrapping!" Please delete the exclamation point after “while you shop!” Please change to a period.

Now, on to gift-giving: we’ve got a wide variety of hand-crafted, locally sourced thoughtful treats for your loved ones. Ash Hopper Botanical skincare’s soaps are all-natural, hand-poured, and beautifully packaged. Master shipwright Bruce, of MacKenzie’s Woodworking hand-turns bowls that will elevate any dinner table. We’ve got both Chloe Sikirica Pottery and Mermud Studio Pottery to further beautify your holiday spread. Upcycled wool sweaters turned into stylish hats? We’ve got them, too, courtesy of Pinmillmade. Finally, The Wreath Forager’s found-object wreaths are simply stunning! As for gifts for foodies, there are too many to list. Do check out Halal Pastures new line of jarred products: pickled turnips, shishito harissa and a very tangy tomatillo salsa. Both the harissa and salsa would be a nice add to your pulled lamb, by the way. And consider No Place Like Home’s Spanish Ratatouille, Tomato Sauce, and Paprika (which comes in 2 sizes, one of which fits perfectly in a stocking)! For your shopping convenience, we’re placing most of our crafters in the upper tier of the parking lot; it’s going to be festive!

Please come hungry, as the The Taco Project will offer their signature breakfast tacos, along with hot soup, quesadillas, and Mexican hot chocolate. 813 Coffee returns with coffee sourced from women-owned farms around the world. Escargot Voyageur will add a touch of la douce France to the market with authentic crêpes made to order, and Grumpy Dumpling will heat up dumplings for you on the spot. No Place Like Home’s giant paella pan will be working all market long, and The Sconery is back for a visit.

Got a holiday party on the horizon with some gluten-free guests? Visit Charlotte’s Home Kitchen for your choice of painterly cakes, including a holiday special. And you can never go wrong with a fruit-laden pie or upside down cake from Elderberry Road!

Thanks for joining us on Saturdays throughout 2024. We wish you all good things in 2025, including lots of visits to the market. See you there!
