If you are celebrating Rosh Hashanah, you may need some local honey from Hudson River Apiaries.
Some plums from Wright's Farms so that you can make Marion Burros' famous plum torte, one of the most popular recipes The New York Times has ever printed.
Challah bread from Wave Hill Breads (might be a good idea to pre-order!)
LIVE lobster and Jonah crab from the Dobbs Ferry Lobster Guys.
Gorgeous mushrooms & tomatoes from Harlem Valley Homestead to make Tomato Risotto or Mushroom Risotto.
Some turmeric & curry powder from Food is Med because you know there are eggplant or shrimp curries in your future.
Olives from Kontoulis Olive Oil because they are a great addition to pasta dishes, salads and stews.
The raisin bread from 123 Dough because it's the bread everyone is talking about!
Hard cheese from McGrath Cheese Co. because it's perfect on a board with some of Concklins' Concord grapes, and some saucisson sec from Larchmont Charcuterie.
Some apple brandy from Neversink Spirits because it's just the thing to sip around the fire pit right now.
A caramel apple from La Petite Occasion
Some peach or strawberry jam from new vendor Birdie's Batch Baked Goods because it tastes as rustic as it looks. Ditto for her baked goods, from gooey chocolate chip cookies to honey rosemary monkey bread. She will also be bringing gluten-free rugelach! Please give her a warm Hastings welcome!
Also, don't forget to bring your knives/ pruning shears/scissors for the knife sharpener.
This is also "gleaning" week, the week we collect your virtual donations for the Hastings Food Pantry. Please click below to donate or you can donate anytime at www.hastingsfarmersmarket.org.
We use your donations to purchase fresh market ingredients and deliver them to fellow Hastings residents in need. Everyone should have access to the delicious local food we are so fortunate to enjoy. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
