December 7th, 2019

Our first winter market is tomorrow. We stay outside in the Library Lot through December, but our hours are shortened - 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Though some of our farmers take the winter off, most vendors remain and some new ones join us.

Letterbox Farm Collective will join us this season with winter greens and sustainably-raised meat from their Hudson, NY farm. Hey Mama Kitchen (lactation cookies and teas) and Hive Juice Lab (cold-pressed healthy fruit and vegetable juice blends) join us while their home markets are on winter hiatus, and a new Yonkers-based Belgian waffle artisan visits to keep you fueled up for all the holiday shopping that awaits you at the Market and on the Holiday Trolley tour!

This Saturday the Market will be brimming with locally-made, unique holiday gifts for everyone on your list. Harlem Valley Homestead is offering new products from their farm for the holiday season. Handmade gift collections feature their favorites for both kitchen and body care nestled in a sustainably made wooden box. From homemade Lavender Shortbread Cookies to farm-grown Tallow and Beeswax candles, each item reflects the beauty of simple, carefully crafted ingredients. You can purchase pre-made boxes or build your own from an array of Hudson Valley's finest culinary and apothecary products.

Need small gifts for co-workers or your kid's teachers? La Petite Occasion offers delectable, artisan caramels in a variety of well-curated flavors and sizes. The caramels are made with local ingredients and made in small batches. They are also bringing their tantalizing toffee. Heading to a cookie swap of need a gift to satisfy a neighbor's sweet tooth? Silva's Kitchen is bringing holiday tins of her signature alfajores and brigadeiros (delicious Latin-American cookies).

Do you have someone on your list who might have moved away from their beloved Hastings? Give a gift that will remind them of home. Head to the Market table to pick up a shopping tote to load up with goodies like honey from Hudson River Apiaries and jams from Meredith's Bread. If they've moved somewhere chilly, consider a NEW limited-edition Market hoodie. Or perhaps they would enjoy a tea towel set wrapped around a hand-crafted mezzaluna from American Bow Knife or nestled in a beautiful, hand-turned bowl from C-Los Carpentry? You could also pair the tea towels with goat-milk soap from Wil-Hi Farm. In addition to yarn, soaps, and ornaments, they'll have plenty of legs of lamb for holiday dinners.

The Hudson Valley Singers will sing carols at 10:30 and would love for you to join in.

See you at the Market!
