I've often been told that the market, with all its sights and sounds and smells, can be overwhelming. Sometimes it helps to have a few tips for must-stops.

This week for example, you don't want to miss Sova Farm's tender chicken thighs and breasts, especially if you went overboard on beef at holiday bbqs last weekend. Here's a chile roasted chicken with honey and feta recipe that would tastes great with an heirloom tomato salad. You can get your honey at the SOVA Farm tent, too.

Make a bee-line to the Wildraft Baking Company tent (formerly Sweethearth Bakeshop) because Brittany, the baker, is a ray of sunshine, but also because her "vegetal" granolas (roots & seeds, beet & buckwheat, cocoa chickpea) are wildly delicious. And this just in: To celebrate her husband, Michael's birthday on Saturday, Wildcraft would like to give a free Chickpea Chocolate Chip or Oatmeal Coconut cookie to their first ten customers of
the day.

Manor Sangria did not get a blog mention the last time they were here because they were a late addition to the lineup. So, I want to make sure everyone knows they are coming this weekend because their product is quite special. Well-balanced, red wine sangria made with local fruit and sold in pretty Mason jars. Each festive jar serves two and well, kind of makes you want to throw a party. What's not to love?

While you're on the upper level stop by the Two Birds Provisions tent for a miso-marinated chicken quinoa bowl with seasonal greens, roasted beets, feta crumble, crushed peanuts and chili oil.

Finally, Found Herbal is here again this week. If you're sending a little one to camp, or just going on a picnic, make sure you pick up their all natural "bug-off" bars.

Want to dazzle your friends with your cocktail prowess? Let Kas Spirits give you a hand. Here are two versions of the classic summer "Bees Knees" cocktail made with their Krupnikas.

Baltic Sea Bee's Knees

1 oz KAS Krupnikas
1 oz gin
1 oz lemon juice

Shake well with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

The Smoking Bee

1oz KAS Krupnikas
1.5 oz mezcal
0.75 oz lemon juice

Shake well with ice and strain into
a chilled cocktail glass, add a pinch of smoked salt

Or, try their Black Locust KAS honey liqueur with ginger beer or lemonade for something different yet refreshing.

And, finally, a heads up that the fantastic Richard Cortez Jazz Band is back this Saturday. They will be performing from 10:30 to 12:30. Last time they were here, they had everyone singing and tapping along. So. Much. Fun.

See you at the market!
